Trainer: Cynthia Spalding
She started riding in 1958 under the military police instructor Colonel Galo Gomez Mancheno. Her training included riding on the lunge without reins and stirrups, jumping and dressage. Competing and winning a first place medal in jumping in Ecuador before moving to the US in 1962. She has worked under several trainers learning saddle seat, driving and reining methods.
In 1985 she earned her certification as an American Riding Instructor Level III. Coaching riders and training horses to the top levels of the FEI. She was recognized by Riding Instructor Magazine as an outstanding instructor.
She participated in the Olympic screening trials in 1978 and 1980, working with four Olympic coaches and other notable horsemen and women over the past 45 years.
Now living in Missouri, she continues to teach riders at all levels and horses of all breeds assessing each individual rider and horse adjusting techniques to fit each situation. Creekside Equestrian is honored to sponsor Cynthia as she travels to Parker, Colorado to provide clinics for riders and their horses once a month.
